IronDingo is THE social network for all riders. Riders, or motorcycle owners and enthusiasts, are a social bunch by nature assembled around their love of the sport and the call of the open road. To this end IronDingo set forth to give riders a place to share their love, to connect to each other, and to have a place to call home online.
The design for IronDingo began with the Roaring Dingo logo. The Dingo, for those who don't know, is an Australian dog more on the lines of a boarder collie then a rabid hyena. But, IronDingo's users were not going to want a cute and cuddly cartoon character. So, the Roaring Dingo logo was designed to be anything but "sweet". The profile is a snarling dingo baring its razor sharp teeth. The hackles on the back of it's neck are flared and ready for a fight. It's tongue is sharp and whipping out of it's mouth. You can almost feel it's breath. This is set on a "iron" texture with chipped red paint to show the wear and tear of the road on this snarling beast. Everything a good motorcycle logo should be.

The next step was the IronDingo website Originally launched in December of 2009, IronDingo had over 650 members in less than 30 days. The idea was a hit but the design was a mess and so I was brought on to focus the design and give it and edge.
Using the Roaring Dingo logo as a guide I designed a site that would have and edge without getting in the users way. We sat down and looked at what users said were important to them on the site and what information they would like to access. We then mapped out a UI and an information architecture that would allow users to do what they cam to the site to do, revel in their passion of riding. The new and improved IronDingo with be launching in February of 2010 and we have no doubt it will be "the" place to go when you want to ride.
